Gansu, a Key Hub on the Silk Road, Attracts Global Enthusiasts for Cultural Exploration
This year, Gansu Province—a vital stop along the ancient Silk Road—has welcomed travelers from around the world, drawn by its profound historical and cultural heritage.
Wang Xueli, Deputy Director of the International, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Division of the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, revealed on the 23rd in Lanzhou that "From January to April this year, Gansu received 48,426 inbound tourists, marking a 52.6% year-on-year increase."
Wang noted that local authorities are actively promoting the launch of international flights in key Silk Road cities such as Lanzhou and Dunhuang. "Currently, six international and regional routes are operational: Lanzhou to Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), Nagoya and Osaka (Japan), and Hong Kong, as well as Dunhuang to Hong Kong," he said. "Five additional routes are set to open soon: Lanzhou to Kuala Lumpur, Dunhuang to Hanoi, Dunhuang to Seoul, Dunhuang to Kuala Lumpur, and Dunhuang to Japan."
