Desert Wonders - Mingsha Mountain Moon Tooth Spring!

In the national 5A level scenic spot, Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring, a national scenic spot, has been renowned for its desert wonder of coexistence of mountains and springs, as well as sand and water, for thousands of years, and is known as a masterpiece of scenery beyond the Great Wall. The mountain is formed by the accumulation of fine sand in red, yellow, green, black, white, and five colors. From above, the mountain shape is curved and staggered, with sharp ridges resembling blades. Under the sunlight, the sand ridges are rippling with alternating light and dark layers, creating distinct layers. From below, the mountain resembles ancient Egyptian pyramids, magnificent and majestic.

The magic of Mingsha Mountain lies in the fact that during the day, tourists climb and slide down, bringing down a large amount of quicksand from the mountaintop. However, overnight, these sand particles can return to the mountaintop on their own with the help of wind, restoring their original shape. There is also a record in ancient literature that 'after passing through the wind, one can return to their original state'.

However, in recent years, with the surge of tourists, there have been more and more people climbing Mingsha Mountain on foot, bringing with them more and more sand. Relying solely on the wind of nature is no longer enough to completely circle the sand that tourists step on during the day. Some of the beautiful sand ridges have become sand ridge roads, and the height and shape of Mingsha Mountain are constantly changing. The most direct impact of this change is the changes in air ducts, wind direction, and wind force entering the core scenic area of Yuequan Bay, which will directly affect the survival of Yueyue Spring.

For this reason, the Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring Management Office has decided to enclose some of the mountains in order to allow them to self repair during the rotation period, restoring the sharp sand ridges and mirror like sand slopes. Simultaneously establish a dedicated climbing area to meet the needs of tourists for barefoot climbing.

Dear friends, Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring is the only and non renewable tourist resource in the world, but its value goes far beyond just sightseeing. Protecting and inheriting this unique tourist destination is also the responsibility of each and every one of us. We hope that tourists and citizens can understand and support us, and cooperate with the regulations of the scenic area to travel in a civilized manner. Do not climb over the fence in the prohibited climbing area, and take care of this desert wonder like protecting our eyes!
